When resetting an access code, you must attach another backup card to confirm the code reset. Therefore, you'll require two cards to reset your access code: the card whose access code you want to change and an additional card from your backup set for confirmation.
An error will occur if the confirming card doesn't have access to the same wallet as the card you're changing the access code for.
Error 41220
Error 41220 occurs when you try to scan a card not linked to the current wallet. It means the scanned card isn't associated with the same card you're trying to change the access code for.
Error 41301
The error code 41301 occurs in 2 cases:
- This error occurs when resetting the access code if you use the same card. At the step "Tap a backup card," scan another card linked to this wallet, not the one on which you reset the access code.
- This error happens when you try to scan a card that is not linked to your current wallet. It means the scanned card isn't associated with the same card you're trying to change the access code for.
Note: If you have reset all associated cards except one, you won't be able to recover the access code for the remaining card. Additionally, resetting this card to its factory settings is impossible without the current access code. Remembering the correct access code is the only way to regain access to this card.
You might have mixed Tangem cards from different wallet sets. The only solution to this issue is to determine the specific cards connected to your wallet.
