Tangem will not stop working; we are just beginning our journey. Also, Tangem servers are not involved in your crypto operations. All crypto operations go directly to public blockchain nodes or API services. Tangem doesn't collect user data like IPs, addresses, balances, transactions, etc. We also don't provide KYC services — your wallet, your business!
We will give you more details.
To send crypto from your Tangem Wallet, open the Tangem app, choose a token, and enter the address and amount. When you've entered everything and pressed "Send,” the app generates a transaction message for the blockchain.
Now, the transaction has to be signed. The app asks you to enter your access code and tap your card to the smartphone. The card's chip signs the transaction with your private key and sends the signed transaction back to the app.
Now, we need to send the transaction to the blockchain. The app accesses one of the publicly available API servers of the selected blockchain. These servers are responsible for interacting with the blockchain and various crypto apps. If one API doesn't work, the Tangem app communicates with another one, and so on, until it finds a functioning one. The app knows 3-5 APIs for each blockchain, so something catastrophic has to happen for a blockchain to be completely inaccessible — an extinction-level event such as the sun exploding.
Once the API has responded, the Tangem app transmits your signed transaction, and the API sends it to the right blockchain. The transaction is submitted to the new block, and soon, you see your balance reduced, and the recipient sees the received crypto.
As you have learned, no Tangem servers are involved when sending and receiving transactions in your wallet.
What if you don't have the Tangem app?
The Tangem app is open-source. This means that each app version is automatically published on a special resource: https://github.com/tangem. The Tangem repository on GitHub contains the full app code for Android and iOS, as well as a setup file for Android (APK-file).
